With this sudden blast of hot air throughout most of the country, I was reminded about this article I wrote on water.  I wrote several articles on water for it is very important for our health.

Is Your Water Facet loaded? 10/5/13

Water – Bottled or Tap? 6/28/14

Drink Filter Tap Water Not Soda 7/12/16

My Alkaline Water and pH 12/2/18

When I first started drinking water without ice, I wasn’t sure it would be of any advantage for I thought I was drinking water to cool down.

It didn’t take much time for me to realize that I felt more hydrated and cooled with the glass of room temperature water then I ever did when it was loaded with ice.

Now back to the original article

We Know You Should Drink More Water, Right?

I Wonder, Are Bottled Water Companies Behind the Push to Drink More Water?

In todays commercial world, where everyone is trying to sell you something – I wouldn’t put it past them but

Water is a vital requirement for our bodies.

Water is Vital to Our Health

We cannot live without it. We need water and oxygen to stay alive. Your body is 70 percent water. Your body needs hydration to keep everything lubricated and flowing. Just as your car and any motor engine needs oil, the human body needs water. Human blood is more than 80 percent water. Water helps deliver nutrition and minerals to the body and flush out acids, toxins and wastes from the body.

Modern day experts, Traditional Medicine like India’s Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM recommend drink at least 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day.

What is water?

Water is a Life Force. Water is life.

Where does Water Come From?

Most say it comes from the sky as part of the water cycle. Others like Dr. Masaru Emoto say it comes from outer space and returns to outer space.

Which is Better – Drinking Cold, Hot  or Room Warm Water?

I’m sure we will all answer Cold Water, but is drinking cold water really that good for you?

Ever Heard of Brain Freeze?

Brain Freeze

iu

On a Hot Day, eating ice cream or drinking ice water too fast may cause what is called brain freeze.  You may a major headache and not feel very good but your brain isn’t frozen. Your body maintains temperature automatically and will return you to homeostatic almost immediately.

The pain you feel is your body and brain trying to tell you stop and let me try to figure out what to do about all that icy cold stuff you just swallowed.  Your body immediately constructs blood vessels and slows down.  If your hot, you’ll just get hotter.  This is the same reaction if you pour cold water all over you.  You feel the icy chill but then you will just get hotter.

Constricted Blood Vessels

Constrict – make narrower, especially by encircling pressure.  Also the headache that results in Brain Freeze.  This would happen if you put your fingers in ice cold water for a length of time much like Frostbite.

The Temperature of Food and Water You Eat Is Important

Our bodies maintains an internal body temperature is 37.0 °C or 98.6 °F.  The average room temperature of water is about 70 °F.  The temperature of ice is around freezing 32 °F.

According to a study published in the European Journal of Pharmaceutical and Medical Research, your body isn’t made to handle cold water. It tightens blood vessels which hinder digestion and hydration. Furthermore, instead of concentrating on the intake of nutrients, your body must spend energy on regulating its internal temperature after the consumption of cold water. Drinking cold water after a meal can also create excess mucus which may interrupt normal immune function and make you more vulnerable to infections.

Why Is Cold Water Bad For You?

When you body temperature is lowered it constricts to keep warmth.  Constrict means gets smaller.  Cold water shrinks blood vessels, slows hydration and digestion.  It causes pain, increases blood pressure, reduces available oxygen, reduces the immune system’s function making it easier to get sick and catch something like a cold.  Ever have a summer cold?

Drinking cold water after a meal creates excess and thickened mucus and your nose starts running and you start to sneeze or at least I do.  If your were stressed before, you certainly will be stressed after.

You may Think cold or cool water will relax you, but it doesn’t.  It does  just the opposite you feel tight and constricted.  Your circulation declines and you don’t feel so good.

Warm water opens your pores and makes your skin feel relaxed and loose.  You can rehydrate easier with open pores then with closed restrict ones.

Drink Hot, Warm or Room Temperature Water

If you tell the people around you don’t drink cold water I’m sure they will look at you like you’re a kooook.  They may just start to wonder if you belong in the Funny Farm. I’m sure they say, “Oh, that’s just one of  her funny ideas.”

Drink Warm Water

While doing research for this article, I was talking to an ex-marine friend of mine,  “I have been stationed , in most of the hottest places on the Planet “, he said ,”and was always told DO NOT DRINK COLD WATER”.  He continued, “You cannot drink cold ice water and expect to continue to function you have to drink room temperature to survive. You may pass out right then and there.”

Drink Water Not——-

Coffee

Fruit Juice

Soda sugar or sugar-free

Tea

Energy Drinks

I don’t mean stop drinking these things, you can still drink your herbal teas and in my case I still drink my coffee and herbal teas but not as much.  I take sips on pure warm water most of the day.  These do not help hydrate as good as water does.

Are We Addicted to ICE?

As I talked to people, they would say they can’t drink anything but ice water.  They insist the glass be packed with ice.  I then asked

What did people do in the 1800’s and early 1900 without refrigeration?

Some History of Ice Makers

iu

That was over 200 years ago. In 1805, an American inventory, Oliver Evans, designed the first refrigeration machine.  In 1844, John Gorrie, built a refrigerator based on Oliver Evans design.  Oliver Evans refrigerator was made to cool the air and lower the temperature of his yellow fever patients.  Carl von Linden patented the basic refrigeration technology of liquefying gas in 1876.

With the ice box people got their ice from ice houses and sold by the “ice man”. Blocks of ice were cut from lakes and rivers and stored in a hole in the ground under straw in ice houses.  Now we have the cooler a lightweight go anywhere container.

Ice Cub Tray

The first flexible stainless steel, all-metal ice tray was created by Guy L. Tinkham in 1933. The tray bent sideways to remove the ice cubes. At the time he was the CEO of a company that sold and produced household products.

History of The Refrigerator

General Electric (GE) In 1911 released a household refrigerator that was powered by gas.  In 1927 GE released the Monitor top which ran on electricity Frigidaire, a competitor of GE’s synthesized Freon which led to the successful light weight lower price home refrigerator.

Ice machines followed including in 1965 the ice machine available inside the door of the refrigerator First Ice Maker in the Door of a Refrigerator

In Today’s push button world, Ice is so available we can’t even think of drinking anything without it.  Hot coffee and tea excluded.

The human race has existed for thousands and thousand of years and only has had ice for the last 50.

Refrigeration and Ice Is A Major Health Benefit

Don’t get me wrong the invention of refrigeration has brought about major health benefits.  Ice has saved many lives.

Use of Ice

Reduces fever

Reduces inflammation

Help preserve Food and Medicine and anything else that must be kept cold

Helps relieve pain

reduces swelling

Moistens the Skin

Helps the burn of Sunburn

Reduces a Toothache

And Much More

What Kind of Water Bottled or Tap?

Now that we have determined to drink warm water – What Kind of water Bottled or Tap?

Drink enough pure water: Bottle water isn’t labeled you don’t know where it comes from.  It may make it look like it comes from an underground spring but It may be just pasteurized tab water. According to several sources and Natural News; all bottled waters are purified before being sold.

Tap Water Is Best

Tap Water is provided by your town it is called municipal water.  It is subjected to year test and even though the water is open to the air and it pollutants it is the safest water you can get.  I just got this mailing and I’ll pass it on to you.

Enter Your Zip Code Here To Find Out What’s Really In Your Tap Water

Tap water should be filtered (using an Activated Charcoal filter) tap water is the best. If not filter boil it or let it stand to remove the chloride (chloride is bleach your water company has  to add bleach to kill bacteria but bleach isn’t very good on your insides you need bacteria to live).

Labels Not Required

Manufactures selling liquid in bottles are not required by the government to provide a list of contents.  This include sellers of alcohol.   Bottle water mostly contains pasteurized Water no bugs good or bad.  It is stripped of everything it is 100% sterile.  You need bacteria. You are bacteria  –  you’re not sterile if you were you would be a machine and machines are not ALIVE.

“Water is a Life Force. Water is life.”

Water helps deliver nutrition and minerals to the body and flush out acids, toxins and wastes from the body.

Minerals in Water

We drink water to prevent dehydration but what we also need from water is its minerals. Water is cleansing, healing and keeps us in touch with nature. Groundwater as it passes slowly through rocks and sediment of the Earth’s crust, accumulates various dissolved minerals. Groundwater mineral content increases the deeper it is in the Earth. Older waters can be highly mineralized. The most common minerals in water include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, salts, sodium, sulfur compounds, zinc and countless others depending on where water has been.”

Tap Water is Real.  It is real Ground Water. It is not processed (pasteurized)

Tap Water needs to be filter and a Charcoal Filter is best.

Two of the most damaging chemicals found in Municipal Water is Chlorine and Fluoride.  You need to call your water company to find if Fluoride has been  added.  There are many water filters available on the market expensive and not so expensive.  A charcoal water filter is best.

When is the best time to increase your water intake

When you first get up in the morning.  It clears the cob webs so to speak

Keep a glass of water by the bed

Exercise – Increase the bodies core temperature and to cool itself down it uses the sweating mechanism.  You need to replenish the lost water.

Elevated Temperature – Increase water intake.  You may use ice cubes directly on the body but not in it.

Helps stimulate digestion like first thing in the morning

When you are Detoxing, it helps cleans the body of released toxins. You may also want to add cleaning helpers like cucumber slice, fresh mint, apple slice, cinnamon stick, lemon and other natural flavor to you water.

Drink additional water when your Body Tells You – Like When you

Feel Hot

Feel constipated or have slow bowel movements like less than one a day.

have diarrhea or loose stools to replace lost water

Feel Dehydrated feel thirsty

Don’t Feel Well

Have Pain

Have Indigestion

Dry Dull Skin

sweating to replace lost water

swollen tongue

Urine color isn’t a light yellow

Urine-chart

Dry Mouth

Bad Breath

Can’t Think Straight

Other Times to Drink Extra Water

During a detox you may want to add some cleansing additions to your water. Try adding some cucumber slices and fresh mint or slices of apple and a cinnamon stick (find here how to easily make your own flavored water for detox and weight loss).

Drink Warm or hot water when feeling pain or illness because warm water helps stimulate blood flow to the tissues which increase oxygen which why you’re having the pain in the first place.  Lack of Oxygen to the Area.

Drink Warm or hot water when constipated or your digestion is slowed.  The main cause of digestion and constipation is dehydration and increased fluids are essential.
