This is a re-write of my original article on Dr. Wahls. I am a determined person but after watching this video I became even more driven. Dr. Wahls gave me the strong inspiration and encouragement to stick with it. I knew I had a few things to learn (A Lot). I used her inspiration for my drive of intensive searching and learning about how to get well using the Natural World around me.
Dr. Terry Wahls Reversed her MS with diet.

I had watched this video sometime at the start of the year (2012), when I was sick in January. Later in the year, I remembered it’s inspirational story. A story of this great woman and the battle where she overcome the crippling effects of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and won. I wasn’t as sick as Dr. Terry, but remembered her fight overcoming total paralysis.
What is Multiple sclerosis (MS)?
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
Ms is a demyelinating disease in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. This damage disrupts communication of the nervous system resulting in a range of signs and symptoms, including physical, mental, and sometimes psychiatric problems. In modern-day medicine there is no known cure. It is considered and autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system is destroying itself. The disease can progress with a steady progression of symptoms with periods of remission.
Dr. Terry Wahls had the chronic progressive form of the disease. Her prognosis was not good and was facing a decline into complete paralysis.

“How I overcame secondary progressive Multiple sclerosis (MS) and got out of my wheelchair.”
“Dr. Wahls an academic general internal medicine physician, in 2000 she was confined to a wheel chair due to secondary progressive multiple sclerosis for four years. She was treated at the Cleveland Clinic, and in 2003 her MS has transitioned to secondary progressive MS with relapse. In 2003 she began the Paleolithic diet.”
“She began research, and changed her diet to ensure every calorie would contribute to maximizing the brain’s building blocks. She began to do neuromuscular electrical stimulation also. In less than a year, she was walking without a cane and could even bicycle. “
“Dr. Wahls works in a Veterans Administration hospital as a physician, seeing patients with traumatic brain injuries and severe psychiatric disorders. I work with fixing their dietary choices first. I tell them I am like a firefighter who has been called too cool off the inflammation in their bodies and brains. “
Now on with the original article
Dr. Terry Wahls was diagnosed with the autoimmune, incurable, progressive and crippling disease of MS.
Rather than give in she kept reading and searching. This is a very strong motivational video. She taught me to listen to my body. It is a complex system and its every action is to keep you alive. No one else can hear it except you. I hope you reach my conclusion – If you put your mind to it, you can solve almost any problem. I also now believe that almost all disease is curable by giving your body the nutrition it needs.
She found that MS is one of the diseases that your brain actually shrinks.

I just recently found this video
The video lasts about 18 minutes and well worth the time spent. It will change your view of food, your body and your life. I’m glad I found this video again so that I can share it with you.

Dr. Terry Wahls learned how to properly fuel her body. Using the lessons she learned at the sub-cellular level, she used diet to cure her MS and get out of her wheelchair.
I have found her website where she has made available more information on what she is calling the Wahls Protocol,
For four years, secondary progressive multiple sclerosis confined Dr. Terry Wahls to a tilt-recline wheelchair. But by using Functional Medicine to create the Wahls Protocol, Dr. Wahls has transformed her health and body: now she walks easily without a cane and commutes by bicycle. Dr. Wahls uses these diets and protocols in her primary care and traumatic brain injury clinics and is leading a clinical trial to test her protocols on others.
